It’s not too late: Reconnecting with Your Passions

It’s not too late: Reconnecting with Your Passions

A few years ago, I met a very hardworking lady who worked in the technical section of my department. As we spoke, she shared a tender part of her story with me. As a child, she had dreamed of going to medical school and becoming a physician. Having survived a major illness herself, she felt a deep desire to help others in the same way she had been helped.

But life, as it sometimes does, took an unexpected turn. Her mother passed away suddenly, and the heartache, combined with the financial struggles that followed, forced her to lay aside that beautiful dream. She chose a different path, working in other fields, though the longing to enter medicine quietly remained in her heart. Yet, without the strength to act on it, the dream stayed buried.

I took some time to sit with her, to listen and gently offer encouragement. I’m truly grateful to say that she found the courage to reconnect with her passion. Today, she’s saving up and preparing to finally begin medical school.

Dear reader, do you find yourself in a similar place? Is there a dream, once dear to your heart that life’s noise and hardships have pushed aside? Maybe you’ve quietly carried it with you, unsure if it still matters or if you have what it takes to pursue it. If so, please read on because this message is for you.

Life can sometimes drown out the things that once made our hearts light up. Expectations, responsibilities, losses, and daily demands can dim that spark. But here’s the beautiful truth: passion is patient. It waits for us. Even when buried or forgotten, it never truly leaves. It rests quietly within us, hoping for the day we’ll notice it again. And as long as you have breath, it’s never too late to rekindle that flame and feel your heart awaken once more.

So today, I gently invite you to pause. Be still for a moment and remember. Remember what once made you feel alive. You don’t need to figure everything out today. You don’t need a perfect plan. All you need is a first step a small, hopeful move toward that longing within you.

Dust off those forgotten dreams, my friend. Begin again, in whatever way you can. Come alive.

If this speaks to you, and you’d like someone to walk alongside you on this journey, I’d be honored to offer my support. I provide coaching services for people just like you: Those who are ready to reconnect with their hearts and dreams.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading. Remember: God loves you and so do I.
