Many years ago, I fell ill while pregnant with my last child. It was a very difficult time, and truthfully, I had no idea what was happening to me. I kept going back and forth to the hospital, only to be told that my illness wasn’t connected to the pregnancy. I was frightened and I couldn’t help but worry that I might lose both my baby and my life.
But you know what kept me going, dear one? I remembered my purpose. I held on tightly to the fact that my life wasn’t over yet, that there was still so much ahead of me, and that the gift of encouragement God placed inside me was meant to touch many more lives. So, I prayed and I did my best to look after myself. Little by little, strength returned to my body, hope returned to my heart, and by God’s grace, I delivered my precious child safely and joyfully.
I want to tell you today that walking in your purpose is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. Discovering why you’re here will change the way you wake up in the morning, the way you carry yourself, and the way you face both good days and hard ones. It will steady your heart and fill your life with meaning. Let me lovingly share a few beautiful blessings that come with walking in your purpose:
It Brightens Your Life
When you know the reason you’re here, it changes everything. It gives your days color, sparkle, and a sense of excitement. I often wake up with a little spring in my step, grateful for the chance to live out my calling. Purpose makes your choices clearer because you understand that not every road is yours to take. And there’s a special glow about people who walk in purpose, it shines from within and draws others to them like a warm light in the dark.
It Keeps You Steady When Life Gets Tough
Life won’t always be easy, my dear. Some days will test you more than you ever imagined. But when you’re rooted in your purpose, you’ll find a strength you didn’t know you had. It holds you up when the storms of life rage and reminds you that you are headed somewhere beautiful. You become like a ship in a storm. The winds may howl, the waves may rise, but your course is steady, and you won’t be lost.
It Connects You to the Right People
We were never meant to journey through life alone. We were created for connection, for friendship, for meaningful relationships. And as you walk in your purpose, you’ll meet people you were meant to meet, some will walk alongside you for a season, some will teach you precious lessons, and a few may become friends you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
It Fills Your Heart with Fulfillment
One of the saddest things in life is to feel empty, going through the motions day after day without meaning or joy. But you, my dear, were not born to simply exist, you were made to thrive. And when you’re living out your God-given purpose, it feels like you’ve finally come home. It becomes your safe place, your haven, where you can be fully yourself and draw strength, courage, and joy.
It Nurtures Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
When you’re doing what you were created to do, it brings a kind of peace and contentment that blesses your whole being. You’ll sleep more soundly, laugh more easily, and find beauty in the little things. Your outlook brightens, your heart feels lighter, and your physical and mental well-being flourishes. It’s a blessing to your health in every way.
So, precious one, you can never go wrong by choosing to walk in your purpose. It’s a path that can only lead you to joy, peace, and a life well-lived.
If you’ve already discovered your purpose, don’t wait. Begin today. Take small steps, pray and trust God to guide you. And if you’re still searching, don’t be discouraged.
